Sara Wiseman is Eardrop's 'Nana'

June 7, 2015 Liz Donnelly

Fans of Sara Wiseman may not recognise her immediately on 'Sounds of the Home' but believe it or not - this fantastic Kiwi actor is our teaspoon playing, tap dancing, birthday gal 'Nana'. Yes really!

Sara is a highly successful actor now winning fans all across Australia as she plays a lead role in the popular series A Place To Call Home. Find Sarah's bio here.

Sara was incredible to work with. She read the script in many different ways which gave us loads of space in the edit room to create the wonderful Nana character. I am very grateful she lent us her skills and heart for the Eardrops project.

“When Liz approached me to be the voice of ‘Nana’ on Eardrop’s Journeys: Sounds of the Home I knew I wanted to be involved. All the Eardrops CDs are such fun and I believe the concept of helping very young children learn how to listen is of great value. Listening is an essential life skill that’s often neglected and it is something we need to encourage from an early age. Here’s an NZ made learning tool that does just that. Enjoy!” Sara Wiseman

I strive to create simple worlds of harmony with Eardrops, where our young children can feel safe to discover. It is a joy and privilege to do this.

Another murder of another father in America by police who are supposed to protect brings a stark truth back into focus. It’s broken. Wherever we are in the world, we need to work harder. Anyone speaking to children must take extra care to disrupt the racist narratives that surround us. Listen first. I am listening.
Thank you māmās, for all you do 🙏🏽

Where’s te ngeru? Can you see the cat? Sounds of the home/kāinga!🤦🏽‍♀️ Ned has always liked to survey his kingdom 😂 Liz xx
Muppets! Wonderful to gain insight into The Muppet Show, Fraggle Rock, Sesame Street, Dark Crystal, The Labyrinth, etc from these legends on the livestream. Grateful for their work with Jim Henson over the decades, a definite source of inspiration for eardrops. These shows were such a big influence on so many children, and they always taught peace.
