Latest feedback: from a Mum of a one year old ...

"A well complied narrative that involves the listener. It almost feels like you are accompanying Eardrops and farmer around the farm on their adventures. A lovely descriptive learning tool for any young child."

from Dorette Harley, Waihi

"There are few things in this world that can grab and maintain the attention of my 2 energetic boys (3-and-a-half and 22 months), but when they hear the Eardrops tune they stop in their tracks and silence descends on our household. They love it in the car, in their room and ask for it to be played often. What pleased me even more was the high quality sound recording and true sounds. The boys are learning so much while they are having fun. It is so wonderful to show our children that learning is fun!

Well done to the Eardrops team. I am looking forward to the next instalment. The triple pack was the best Christmas present ever!"

Comments from media and children’s learning specialists:

"I was given an Eardrops CD when my daughter was tiny.  We listen to it together - she loves the sounds – especially the dog.    I like the fact the sounds were recorded right here.  This is a great New Zealand product that my child will get years of fun and learning from.”
Greer Robson

“Wow!  Another world first for New Zealand.  Brilliant learning tools for under threes – appropriately paced and full of humour.  Eardrops is such a simple concept that really resonates with preschoolers – a fantastic educational product.” Chris Slater - Children’s Media Specialist

“Eardrops Journeys are excellent CDs. Children learn best when they are learning in an authentic context and the real world settings of Eardrop’s Journeys provides this. Eardrops is of great value for all pre school ages and stages as they actively engage children while developing their brain and language skills.  Very very cool!”
Clare Grace - Owner and founder of Easy Mind Home-based Childcare

“My daughter Emma Rose was diagnosed with hearing  and speech difficulties following several bouts of ear infections as an  infant. She had grommets inserted at 18 months, and one of my greatest  concerns as a parent was how to help her "catch up" with her listening and  hearing. Eardrops has been an integral tool in our journey. Emma Rose asks to  listen to the CDs when we're in the car, and I have seen a real improvement in  her recognition and identification of sounds. I’m constantly  coming across new products for preschoolers, but Eardrops has a real point of  difference in that it targets your child’s listening and auditory skills – an  important area to develop before they start school.” Katherine Granich,  Editor, OHbaby! Magazine

"Eardrop’s Journeys are wonderful learning tools. An accessible child centred product that will develop and extend listening skills in a friendly fun way."
Jenny Buckton - Early Childhood Teacher

“When Liz approached me to be the voice of ‘Nana’ on Sounds of the Home I knew I wanted to be involved. All the Eardrops CDs are such fun and I believe the concept of helping very young children learn how to listen is of great value. Listening is an essential life skill that’s often neglected and it is something we need to encourage from an early age.  Here’s an NZ made learning tool that does just that. Enjoy!” Sara Wiseman (‘Nana’ on Sounds of the Home)

"

A refreshing example of creativity bringing environmental sounds to children through the delightful character ‘Eardrop’. Will appeal to children in both home and educational settings."

Feedback from parents:

“Thank you for that awesome Eardrops Listening CD.  The children love it, and it's a great way to calm them down and get them sitting still.  Thanks!”
Angela Powers, Bay Of Plenty, Mother of three

"Ali is doing really well, and we have a fan blowing in to his room which helps him to sleep a bit better. We are listening to the Eardrops CD everyday, it's his favourite, sometimes twice a day."

Fiona, Kiwi Mum in Melbourne

Victoria Cadness, 22 month old Isabel's Mum

"There has been a change in our morning routine that's just come about this week... it goes something like this... Sometime between 6am and 7am I am awoken by a voice... "Mummy.  MUMMYYYYY!  Mummy put Eardrop on?"

I go into her bedroom.  "Do you want to get up?"
"NO!  Mummy put Eardrop on."

I put Eardrop on, she is giggling with excitement and busily tucking herself back into bed with her cot toys.  The intro music starts, I go back to bed and that is the last I hear from her until the CD finishes, then I get "MUMMYYYYYY!  Put Eardrop on.  Mummy one more time?"

And that is the way it has been in our house every morning this week!  So thank you for the extra zzzz's I have been getting!"

“We like the fact that the Eardrops CDs are interactive. The variety of the CDs means there are times when your child can join in, then times which demand their full concentration and also quiet times which might help send them off to sleep. They are very well done. As grandparents you look for quality gifts for your grandchildren, we like to think we are giving our grandkids something meaningful and educational – rather than a flash in the pan latest toy! We also think that as a child grows older and develops they will take different things from the cds – which are suitable for all kids right up until school age.”
Lois & Robin, Grandparents, Karaka, Auckland

“I was amazed when Caleb first heard Eardrops at 22 months.  He stopped, listened and concentrated on each of the sounds.  Eardrops quickly became a firm favourite in our household, as he began to identify the sounds with different toys and things around him in his environment.  At 25 minutes long, the cds are a perfect length and he no longer struggles to pay attention to something for longer than a minute or two!”
Caroline, Mt Wellington, Auckland

“Listening to the Eardrops CDs with my 2 year old nephew is much more than just an opportunity to develop his listening skills.  It is also a real delight to watch his reactions and see how much fun he has with Eardrop and the Sounds of the City and the Country.  The best thing about Eardrops is that kids really do look forward to, enjoy and have fun with it.”
Rebecca, Queenstown

“I play ‘Sounds of the Country’ in the car when I pick Carter up from crèche. He loves it, sings along and repeats all the animal noises back to Eardrop. It stops him from falling asleep before we get home at nap time”
Nat, mother of Steven (6) and Carter (2)

”These CDs are amazing – my daughter just loves to listen to her sounds of the country one, but it is so damaged now from her hauling it around, I have to replace it. What fabulous resources you have created.”
Robyn, Porirua
