Eardrop's Journeys - fun and gentle audio stories for New Zealand children. Watch as your child is enthralled by animal sounds, sounds at home, and busy city sounds. They'll ask for it a dozen times a day if it becomes their favourite (and we know it will ...!) Eardrop the cute, inquisitive bunny character appeals greatly to children. He is a safe ‘best friend’. Eardrop asks questions about each sound on behalf of the child listening. They feel included - and empowered.
The Eardrop's Journeys CDs teach common sounds. There are 30 sounds on each CD, recorded in New Zealand. Listeners are gently guided through each story - the pace is appropriate for preschoolers and older children who may be experiencing language delays. Children experience language delays for many reasons, including glue ear, hearing impairment, or learning English as a second language.
The Eardrop's Journeys CDs help develop good listening skills. The child listening over time develops a longer concentration span and is better able to retain information taken in through their ears. The format was developed with a team of educators including a Speech Language Therapist, Early Childhood Teacher, and Early Intervention Teacher. Audio cues every ten seconds remind the child to continue concentrating on the sounds and keep focused. As the child hears the sound, Eardrop the bunny uses an audio cue like “What’s that? Listening!”
The Eardrop's Journeys CDs create and inspire active learning. As the child becomes familiar with what makes the sound they have great fun pretending to be the animal or machine. We think that anything that keeps our little ones laughing is a great thing - fill their world with joy!
